Joshua Malina? That's going to be awkward.
Carson: Hey Josh how's the show doing?
Joshua: ummm...ABC just pulled it indefinitely
Carson: No, I just saw your show SPORT NIGHT on a couple nights ago
Joshua: What?
Carson: (in a wisper) just go along with it, maybe we can pretend this is a rerun and the WGA will stop being so pissed off at me.

I think it's funny the Late Night Shows are repeats. Why can't the host's try it live for once? After all they get paid the big bucks?!

Because Leno, Letterman, O'Brien, and Kimmel (and probably Ferguson too, not entirely sure about him) are WGA members and won't cross the picket lines. Letterman did it in 1988 - because Carson did - and acknowledged that the product they did was crap.

Speaking of Letterman... that interview he did with Janet Jackson after the Super Bowl fiasco was one of his least interesting ever. About half of it consisted of him asking her about the "wardrobe malfunction" and then her saying "I don't want to talk about that." Now that was crap television.
